Genesee Valley Council on the Arts Announces Second-Round Recipients of Statewide Community Regrant Awards

[Mount Morris/ NY] - [8/10] - Genesee Valley Council on the Arts has completed the second round of this year’s Statewide Community Regrant Awards, made possible through the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). These awarded grants went to several individual artists and non-profit arts and cultural organizations in Livingston and Monroe Counties to support their programs and initiatives in categories, including individual artists, community projects, and educational programs. NYSCA regrants provide funding to promote and support the arts in the local community.

Genesee Valley Council on the Arts is committed to investing in the arts and culture to enrich the lives of individuals and communities. The organization understands the significance of supporting artists and community projects that are working to preserve and promote cultural traditions, increase access to the arts, and foster creativity. The grants awarded this round will fund a variety of programs and initiatives expanding access to arts and culture across the region. GVCA believes these initiatives will have a significant impact on the local community, providing opportunities for individuals to engage creativity in meaningful ways.

The Council is excited to support these artists and organizations doing important work in our community. The Statewide Community Regrant program offers a unique opportunity for Art Councils to fund programs at the local level.

Fifty-four grant applications across both counties were received in Round 2, resulting in a highly competitive selection process.
